Never Suffer From Cough Or Bronchitis Again – A Natural Remedy For You And You…

Simple and Natural Home Remedies for Bronchitis

Just when you thought you were shaking the cold, you wake up in the morning with your cough worse than before. If you are wondering what’s wrong, chances are you’ve developed acute bronchitis, a painful infection that comes as a side effect to a cold, flu and cough.

Bronchitis is actually an inflammation that happens in the bronchial tubes located between the nose and the lungs. Virus, bacteria, or colds can cause bronchitis, with symptoms including coughing with mucus, chest pain, fatigue, muscle aches, nasal congestion, difficulty breathing and fever.

Bronchitis happens mostly after the flu or a cold, when your immune system and resistance are low, resulting in a lung irritation. So, what can you do? In most cases, people reach for over-the-counter medicines, but that doesn’t mean that home remedies for bronchitis cannot help. In fact, some of the “medicines” on the list are even more potent and powerful than traditional medicine. It is just a matter of belief.

People with chronic asthma, allergies and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, as well as other heart and respiratory problems, are even more prone to bronchitis, and they should consult their physician before trying any medicine. With that being said, let’s take a look at some home remedies for bronchitis that can help you alleviate the pain.

We start the home remedies for bronchitis with some spices, and ginger is on top of that list. Thanks to its anti-inflammatory and immune-boosting properties, ginger can help with your lung pain and cleanse your tubes. For this remedy, you need ginger, cloves and cinnamon.

How to do it:

  • Mix one teaspoon of ginger, cloves and cinnamon in one cup of hot water. Stir.
  • Once the water has thoroughly soaked the ingredients, drink the mixture. Repeat for few days.

Alternatively, you can use one teaspoon of ginger powder and black pepper:

  • Put the ingredients in a cup of boiling water, let it simmer for one or two minutes, and then add honey.
  • Drink the mixture two times per day.

There is no denying it: garlic is the most potent home remedy out there. Anti-viral, antibiotic, anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial properties, you name it—garlic has it. But how should you use garlic?

How to do it:

  • Start by taking few garlic cloves and then peel and chop them.
  • Put the mixture into a glass of milk and boil it.
  • Drink before going to bed.

Another spice that comes from the mystical and exotic country of India, turmeric is on the list because of the capsaicin compound found in it. The spice carries many anti-inflammatory properties, and as we mentioned, bronchitis is actually an inflammation in the lungs. With one simple turmeric remedy, you can expect to get rid of the excess mucus in a matter of days.

How to do it:

  • You need one glass of milk and a teaspoon of turmeric powder. Boil the mixture, and drink it two times per day on an empty stomach.
  • One word of caution: this remedy is not recommended for people suffering from hyperacidity, stomach ulcers and/or gallbladder stones.

Eucalyptus Oil

One of the most effective home remedies for bronchitis is steam therapy. And when it comes to steam therapy, no essential oil is as powerful as eucalyptus.

How to do it:

  • Sprinkle few drops of eucalyptus oil in a bowl with boiling water, cover yourself with a towel, and inhale the steam.
  • You can also add eucalyptus oil in your shower for another steam therapy.
  • If you want, you can apply eucalyptus oil topically on your chest. Just make sure to dilute the oil as it is quite potent.

Salt Water

A simple home remedy, salt water gargle treats all the symptoms of bronchitis.

How to do it:

  • Add one teaspoon of salt to a glass of water, and then gargle with it.
  • Repeat the treatment few times per day. Salt water gargle soothes the inflammation, but also helps with excess mucus.

A natural antiseptic, antibiotic, antiviral and antibacterial remedy, honey helps with soothing the throat and boosting your immune system.

How to do it:

  • The simple way to add honey is by adding one tablespoon to your regular daily tea.
  • You can also add honey to lemon water.
  • If you are not a tea drinker, one tablespoon of honey in the morning will soothe and relieve the pain from bronchitis.
